2-chloroethanol is a chloroethanol carrying a chloro substituent at position 2. It has a role as a xenobiotic metabolite. Ethylene chlorohydrin is a colorless liquid with an ether-like odor. It is soluble in water and is also a combustible liquid. Its vapors are heavier than air and it is very toxic by inhalation and skin absorption.
