Acrylonitrile is a nitrile that is hydrogen cyanide in which the hydrogen has been replaced by an ethenyl group. It has a role as a mutagen, an antifungal agent, a polar aprotic solvent, a carcinogenic agent and a fungal metabolite. Acrylonitrile, stabilized appears as a clear colorless liquid with a strong pungent odor. Flash point 32 °F. Prolonged exposure to the vapors or skin contact harmful.
