Butyl formate adalah asetat formiat yang dihasilkan dari kondensasi formal dengan gugus hidroksil butan-1-ol. Ditemukan dalam apel, stroberi, sherry dan keju Pamesan, memiliki bau dan rasa buah-buahan, seperti plum. N-butyl formate muncul sebagai cairan jernih berwarna putih. Titik nyala 64 °F.
