Diglyme is a polyether that is the dimethyl ether derivative of diethylene glycol. It has a role as a xenobiotic, a solvent and an environmental contaminant. Diethylene glycol dimethyl ether is a colorless watery liquid with a pleasant odor. Floats and mixes with water. (USCG, 1999)
