IEC 60079-14 in practice: which installation mistakes do you still find on site?
Cable glands that do not match the enclosure, missing bonding, unsealed conduit entries, the wrong equipment protection level for the zone. Share the findings you see most often during inspections and how you get them corrected before commissioning.

Editor's note to start the list.
From inspection reports and site visits, the findings that come up most often are rarely exotic:
- Cable glands that are not certified for the enclosure's type of protection, or the right gland with the wrong seal for the cable.
- Unused entries closed with plastic transit plugs instead of certified stopping plugs.
- Missing or loose equipotential bonding.
- Equipment whose EPL, gas group or temperature class does not match the area classification drawing, often after a replacement "like for like" that was not.
What is the most frequent finding on your sites, and at which stage do you catch it: design review, installation, initial inspection or periodic inspection? Hearing how others get these corrected before commissioning would help many readers.
